ArcSight Named a Leader by Independent Research Firm

Receives Top Marks for Overall Product Strategy and Compatibility and Integration

CUPERTINO, Calif. - December 7, 2006 - ArcSight, Inc., a leader in Network and Security Information Management solutions, was among the select companies that Forrester invited to participate in its December 5, 2006 Forrester Wave report titled, "Enterprise Security Information Management, Q4 2006." In this evaluation, ArcSight was cited as a "leader" and received the highest score for overall "strategy," which encompasses product strategy, the financial resources to support that strategy and pricing of its offering.

ArcSight received the highest scores for the "compatibility and integration" of its current offering. According to the report, ArcSight ESM's "out-of-the-box ability to collect data from third-party devices is unsurpassed among the evaluated products."

According to the report, "ArcSight leads the evaluation of enterprise security information management (SIM) solutions with its feature-rich security operations functionality and much-improved reporting interface." In addition, the report stated, "Its flexibility and reliability make ArcSight a favorite with many enterprise customers, especially in the security operations center (SOC)."

ArcSight ESM was specifically noted for serving organizations that "have a highly distributed, heterogeneous environment" due to its "agent-based architecture [which] helps offload some of the central processing, and it offers resiliency in the case of a network outage." ArcSight ESM was also noted for its threat identification and response capabilities: "ArcSight was originally built to suit the needs of the SOC and continues to excel in that space. Users often choose the solution for its ability to correlate events across systems. Moreover, its integration with ArcSight Network Response Manager streamlines interaction with other network components to respond to threats or policy violations."
