CUPERTINO, Calif. – May 18, 2006 – ArcSight, Inc., a global leader in Enterprise Security Management (ESM) software, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders Quadrant in the ‘1H06 Security Information and Event Management Magic Quadrant’ report by Mark Nicolett, Amrit Williams and Paul E. Proctor published on May 12, 2006.

Gartner, Inc.’s Magic Quadrant positions vendors in a particular market segment based on their vision and ability to execute.  “Leaders” are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.  In the Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management, execution criteria included overall viability, sales and pricing execution, and effectiveness of the product in customer performance and test environments.  The vision criteria included product scope, data collection and reduction methods, scalability and deployment flexibility, event correlation and taxonomy, incident management and workflow support and embedded security knowledge and asset classification.
